Hello, we are Catherine Clinckemaillie and Steve Rahn and our leather shop is located on our Skookumhorse Ranch in Clinton, BC just a few minutes from town. Clinton is a 1 ½ hour drive NW on Hwy 97 from Kamloops and about a 4 hour drive NE from Vancouver.

We own 7 horses which are put to use in testing our horse related leather products, be it for packing and hunting, daily trail rides, Dressage or Jumping.
Catherine started and runs the Skookumhorse leather business since 2004 and personally makes every product by hand to ensure top quality and workmanship and strives to deliver the best service possible.
Catherine grew up in Liechtenstein, Europe and moved to British Columbia in 1999 to start a career with horses and found her passion for the work with leather while learning the trade from a professional Swiss Saddle and Tack maker (Connie Kuehni from CK Classic Leatherwork who has her shop in Kamloops, BC). The horses are a big part of the daily life and Catherine enjoys pursuing Classical Dressage and Eventing and has completed the equine studies course in Fairview College. She has worked with different trainers and enjoys starting her own horses.
Steve is an outfitter, taxidermist and writer and helps with the design of the leather products. His experience in the horse and hunting industry goes back almost 20 years. He guided with the help of horses and worked as a cowboy on several large cattle ranches. He owns and operates Silvertine Wildlife Co. in Saskatchewan where he guides hunters to world class elk, deer and bison. If he is not guiding he is busy doing taxidermy work for his clients, writes hunting articles and has also published a collection of hunting stories and a guiding/hunting manual.
As often as we can fit it into our busy lifestyles w enjoy hiking, trail riding, traveling and skijoring with our 3 dogs.
